Getting started
You can go from nothing to a photo with a secret file inside it in about two minutes.
1. Sign in with your TYO ID
Every HILIA operation runs under your TYO ID — the same account used across TYO products. Click Sign in in the top-right corner of any page; if you don't have an account yet you can create one on the spot, free.
Signing in is required for all operations that touch the HILIA service — hiding, revealing, probing and watermarking. The visible watermark runs entirely in your browser.
2. Open the tool
Head to the HILIA tool. It has three tabs:
- Steganography — Hide, Reveal, Probe and Capacity panels.
- Watermark — Embed, Extract, Detect, Stamp and Reveal panels for covert marks.
- Visible — the client-side visible watermark.
3. Hide your first file
- In the Hide panel, drop a photo into Carrier image.
- Drop any file — a PDF, a zip, anything — into Payload.
- Pick a method; the default is fine for PNG carriers.
- Set a passcode (optional but recommended — without it, anyone with the image and HILIA can reveal the payload).
- Click Hide and download the result.
The output looks like the same picture. Send it wherever you like.
4. Reveal it later
In the Reveal panel, drop the stego image, enter the passcode, and the original file comes back. That's the whole loop — see Hide & reveal for the details and pitfalls (the big one: don't let anything re-compress the image in transit).
Where next
- Hide & reveal in depth
- Covert watermarking
- Accounts & gas — steghide is free; watermark embedding spends gas.
