Visible watermark
Sometimes you want the mark seen — proofs sent to clients, previews on a listing, draft documents. The Visible tab overlays text or a logo on your image with full control, and unlike every other HILIA operation it runs entirely in your browser: the image never leaves your machine.
Controls
- Mark — free text (a name, "© Studio 2026", "DRAFT") or an uploaded logo image.
- Size & angle — from a discreet corner credit to a full diagonal banner.
- Opacity — from ghost-faint to fully opaque.
- Placement — a single mark where you put it, or the classic tiled diagonal repeat across the whole image.
Adjust until the live preview looks right, then download.
Tips for marks that work
- Cover the subject. A corner mark is trivially cropped off; the tiled repeat at low opacity is the standard defence for proofs.
- Low opacity, wide coverage beats high opacity in one spot — harder to remove, less destructive to the preview's usefulness.
- Text beats logo for deterrence when it names the recipient ("Preview for Acme"), because a leak identifies its source.
Tip
A visible mark deters; it doesn't prove. For evidence that survives cropping and editing of the visible mark, pair it with a covert watermark on the same image — the visible mark warns honest viewers, the covert one catches the other kind.
Free and anonymous
Because it's client-side, the visible watermark needs no gas — and it works without signing in.
